Still Life in Rio by Olfactive Studio

New photo, new inspiration, new perfume.

Still Life in Rio by BL'eauOG

It became yearly habit to create and to find spots for fragrant, olfactory portraits. Céline Varleure, creator of the brand constantly seeks spots in the world that might inspire her. She is also a world-trotter, seen a lot and visited many corners in the world. Rio de Janeiro, the city of Samba and Caipirinha was her latest inspiration. The result is luminous, solar, gentle and creamy perfume.
Olfactive Studio is all about modernity. The concept is creative and there is always something more than just a perfume. Céline seeks inspiration, travels the world, visits pop art places and she translated her spirit into the brand. The scents themselves are also modern. They are modern classics, everything is well made and well balanced. There is a feeling from Kenzo and Issey Miyake in Olfactive Studio perfumes. Vibe reminds me of them.

This photograph is the inspiration for the perfume and it was shot by Flávio Veloso. He is a young Brazilian photographer who specialized in nature shots during his numerous trips in Brazil. Passionate about walking through the parks of Rio de Janeiro, he knew from an early age that photography would hold an important place in his life. He earned a degree in biology, another vantage point for viewing nature. Now a professional photographer, he lives in Florianopolis and does photo-reportage in lush Brazilian forests while also expanding his collection of artistic photographs, which he regularly exhibits in galleries.

Dora Bagriche made this perfume from Firemenich. Prior to falling in love with the perfumer profession and her training at ISIPCA, Dora Baghriche had dreams of writing and becoming senior field reporter. Imbued with Mediterranean warmth, Dora spent her childhood between two cities and two cultures: Alger and Paris. With both her grandmothers being pastry chefs, she developed a passion for indulgence. She inherited an olfactory memory of pine nut crème, cinnamon treats, and a waft of almonds.

Finally, the review. Still Life in Rio is a perfume that has amazing note - green freshness with gentle citrus smell of bergamot and unbelievably good yuzu. I dislike yuzu, but this one is gorgeous! The opening is my favorite part of the perfume because it is utterly good, refreshing, vital, like a feeling after good shower. The opening is mixed with mint which gives additional loveliness to my nose. It goes into coconut scent enriched with sweet pink pepper and the scent of copaiba. Yup, there is something like it. There is also warmness levitating above the composition all the time. This stuff reminds me a lot of Kenzo's beginning in the 90ies, when he started to create his masterpieces.
