A fantasy alchemy by Pierre Guillaume
Le Musc & La Peau - 4.1 reworked edition
His perfumes are constant and unbeatable inspiration to me. There is some kind of magic in his numbered collection that makes me spellbound. This is the latest creation of this independent perfumer. He reworked his masterpiece Musc Maori 04 into this sensual creation.
Pierre Guillaume definitively moved into a new level of creating - this is Pierre Guillaume 3.0. First phase was when he started with his numbered edition and second was with his experiments in Phaedon and Huitième Art. This is completely new level - usage of extra fine molecules. What is more stunning, his knowledge develops at a stunning rate - he mastered the combinations of molecules in perfumes. In my opinion, the result is spectacular.
Le Musc & La Peau is molecular masterpiece. What I like in numbered collection of his is the combination of natural raw materials with refined, soft molecules. I think that he made a breakthrough in artisan perfumery when he appeared on a scene. Like Octavian Coifan said, Pierre's creations were not understood in Paris at first, but now, he is rocking all the way.
This perfume outruns the concept of Escentric Molecules to me because it is much more complex, deep and solid. There is more to it than to a simple perfume with only one, transparent molecule. There is a complexity of aldehydes and refreshing milky-herbal tones mixed with creamy tones of something that makes the smell similar to labdanum. Touch of sweetness inside gives the feeling of tonka bean, a soft, beautiful, warm spice.
The cocktail of molecules is spectacular because you can smell a true pyramid while there are molecules such as astrolide, fixolide, velvione, ambretolide, habanolide or exaltolide. The one would never guess that inside is a bunch of names that doesn't mean anything to the layman. This is the true art of perfumery.
So sensual, so erotic and elegant. This perfume is my coup de foudre and I like a lot as my perfume when I wanna feel naked, without having anything on me!
