Born from a passion
Eris Perfumes collection
Just like me, she is/was a perfume blogger and a writer. Now, she has a line of her own perfumes made by a Master perfumer. Just as I want too. Barbara Herman is her name and she is known as the writer of Yesterday's perfume - a blog for vintage perfume maniacs. Eris is a result of love and passion and that's why I like it the most.
"Named after Eris, daughter of Night (Nyx) and the Greek goddess of troublemaking and disruption, her brand ERIS PARFUMS is inspired by muses — divine, human, and fragrant — that exemplify unconventional beauty and dark, subversive glamour."
There is beautiful imagination that Barbara has, who was born in Saigon, because she also wrote a book. The book is still very popular among the perfume critics and perfume writers because it ofers a synopsis of everything what was very important in perfumery of the past century.
I would be very happy to lay my hands on that book because I am also into subversion these days, I am preparing my next public conference. There is nothing subversive about Night Flower, only pure beauty exists. I don't know why, but I became crazy about Tonka bean and cardamon. They are definitely my favorite spices - sweet, warm and pleasant. Night Flower has incredibly beautiful and soothing warm spices inside, beautiful Tonka bean and cardamon. I would guess that inside is Cierge de Lune flower that is very specific and goes well with vanilla, Tonka and cardamon. It's a very specific flower that you can find in the latest Aedes de Venustas release. Night Flower is my favorite one - sensual, warm, sweet and creamy. It gives me the feeling of sensual night out!
Night Flower by Eris
Belle de Jour is very simple to describe by quoting its perfumer, Mr. Antoine Lie, he says: "Belle de Jour is a study in contrasts: a very luminous floral that is salty, sexy and dirty.". That sums it up pretty much. It's a good combination of jasmine and coriander for white flowers lovers.
I am more into Ma BĂȘte that is very interesting. I can't imagine the situations in which I could wear it, It's like a crossover between Caron's Yatagan and Etat Libre d'Orange Eloge de Traitre. Herbal, spicy and woody scent.
Eris is very interesting because those perfumes are very "European" although coming from the US. It's really an effort of evoking some traditional scents and that's your invitation to discover them.
