Something yummy from America
I didn't know that American perfume scene becomes so strong and visible. Certainly, New York is becoming a center for perfumes. It begun with Aedes and Osswald and now they have Tranoï show with variety of American brands. I encountered recent one - Nomaterra. A brand by two passionate people, Agnieszka who is orginally from Poland and Ben, her partner in crime.
Nomaterra is actually a combination of words composed of "nomads" and "earth" where finally you get "Nomaterra". It actually means nomads of the earth which symbolically reflects the core idea of this beautiful perfume brad. Each fragrance is named after one city or place that inspired Aggie and Louis to create a perfume. This is why they are inspired by nomads - constant move and change. By wearing their perfumes, we are able to enjoy their interpretation and their vision of that place.
My choice on blind was New Orleans and that was a straight hit in my heart. There were some attractive scents and the choice was difficult. I use the elimination process and as soon as I saw the pyramid of New Orleans, it was among two favorites. I saw the ingredients which captivated me. I was enchanted with the booze note and intrigued by datura.
The pyramid didn't lie at all! I was longing for a perfume that has very pronounced boozy note and this is the one. In the opening I smell booze and I really like it because goes well with smooth cardamon and tonka bean which are very pronounced in the heart. There is also a creamy almond note, like a butter on bread and very refined carnal flower. It is a well rounded floral and gourmands composition backed up with warm spices. It is very French, but hey, New Orleans was influenced by French too!
It's the city I would like to visit, especially during the festivities. This might be the scent that could get me imagining the atmosphere inside. There is something warm and attractive inside of a perfume, just like I imagine the city itself.
